###Over age enrolments
PIO is effective in enrolling student who are out of school. Some of them have never attended school, others have attended primary school for a short while bu then left because of family circumstances. Many of these children would never attend school were it not for the efforts of PIO and other NGOs to assist them.
An overage enrolment is a student whose is higher than the expected age for students studying at a particular level. Children start primary school at 6 years of age so The expected age is 5 + grade level.
The age of the child is the age on the 1st of October - the beginning of the school year. A student is classified as over age if they are at least one year older than the expected age for their level of study.
