Today PIO had our first ever Skype video exchange with students from Canadian International School in Singapore. By hooking up a TV to a portable laptop, within minutes the PIO students at Stung Meanchey had their first glimpse of CIS students in their own classroom via 3G internet connection.
An introduction of a traditional Khmer dance opened up the session to a few questions and then some serious goofing around by both sides. Some of the less camera shy were figuring out the best faces that would get them some extra camera time. The students at CIS then demonstrated their tap dancing skills. After the demonstrations both sides got to ask each other questions about their dancing and life in school.
Over all a great cultural exchange that brought joy and a wider experience to both schools. Thanks to CIS teacher Ben Grundy for initiating this idea.
