On July 4-7 at Savana and Paragon Shopping Centres in Phnom Penh, the Thai Embassy in Cambodia presented the Thai Beauty & Cosmetics Show . PIO Beauty Salon trainees were trained by teachers from Thailand on how to apply make-up. The one and a half hour workshop was followed by the opportunity to participate in a competition to show their skills. The categories were Party or Wedding make-up and Youth make-up. Fifteen Beauty Salons from Phnom Penh participated in the competition while PIO was the only NGO to participate. PIO was represented by one of our teachers, Mrs. Thida Soun  and by first year student, Ms. Kiry Try.

PIO is proud to report that our team came third in this competition and were presented with medals and $50.00 from the Thai Ambassador Secretary. This is a great accomplishment considering that PIO was competing against established Beauty Salons in Phnom Penh, and demonstrates the level of skill that is taught at the school.
